Many of our students learn an instrument and many become involved in ensemble work through participation in choirs, bands, orchestras and drama productions. Tuition is offered in a range of instruments as well as voice. Our music staff and tutors are passionate about their subject and many of them are successful musicians themselves.

A large number of ensembles rehearse each week and perform regularly. In addition there are opportunities for solo performance and preparation for practical examinations.

Music is a joyful experience. We hope that through our teaching we create a stimulating and creative environment for pupils and staff alike. We aim to broaden the musical experience of all our pupils, reflecting their interests and aspirations.  Our students, of all ability levels, develop their potential through practical activities such as listening, performing and composing/creating.
