A Musical ShowcaseWednesday 17 November 2010 See some more pictures of the event in our gallery. Our musical showcase this week, as always, did not disappoint. There were oustanding performances from our young musicians and for some this was their first time on stage. What talent! Some highlights were the Key Stage 3 rock bands rendition of Green Day and Nirvana, the amazing performances on the piano from Cola Young and Chelsea Ngan from primary, and Paivi Pirhonen, Jenny Zhang, Grace Lau and Elizabeth George (voice) from secondary. Parts of the concert were recorded and will be used as course work submissions for some of our GCSE and IB music students. The concert was not without some interesting moments - our talented drum tutor Mr. Simerick broke strings on two different guitars while accompanying his young drum students, and in the orchestral finale of Pomp and Circumstance, some gremlins in the electric keyboards kept setting off the rock and roll drum beats. But, in true BISS style the show went on! Well done to all our young performers and thank you to all in attendance for supporting the arts at our school and your understanding and patience when our concert went over the scheduled time. |
