Action on the Court

On Saturday the 19th of February, the year 8 and 9 Netball team set off for the journey to Dulwich College. Our first game was against BISS Pudong, we had some great passes and interceptions. It was a tough challenge and BISS Puxi triumphed! Winning 6-5.

Next we played Dulwich and they were hard! But we played our best and our passes were strong, we tried out a new centre pass technique which worked well. Dulwich won 9 goals to 3.

Our last game was against YCIS, we played well and passes weren’t as powerful as the others games but we still managed to beat them 15-0!!!

Thank you Ms Byfield for being a great coach and umpire.

Years 5 & 6

By Madelynn Thacker

On Saturday the 19th of February, a team of eight year 5 and  year 6 netballers set off to BISS Pudong at 8am. That day was our very first exciting ‘real’ netball game. Our year 5 and 6 girls netball team consisted of Maddy (Captain), Hikari, Lizzie, Annabella, Makayla, Anna, Momoe and Arabella.

The first game we played was against Dulwich Shanghai, the second team we played was BISS Pudong and the third team we played against was Dulwich Suzhou.  We didn’t win any of the games but we learnt so much and improved throughout the morning.

We were there until about 11am. Even though we have only been practicing netball during ECA time for a very short time (since January 2011), we still did a great job and had lots of fun!

Congratulations to Hikari for being playing of the day! Hikari did a great job, especially in defence, and played to nearly the end with a badly injured finger!

Thanks to Mrs Walsh our coach and also to all the parents that helped cheer us on!

The school netball teams take their game to the next level in a local competition.
