A Day of DiscoveryOn the 17th February 2011 all of the pupils in year five arrived at the primary school at the normal time of 8:30 am, ready for a fun and exciting day ahead of them! By Lizzie White 5B First, in our classes, we were sorted into groups. The groups included the teacher who would be taking care of us during the day. Then we were taken down to the canteen to collect our pack lunches, after which we were taken outside in our classes and boarded the bus. When we arrived at the museum we all had to be taken through security and checked for any sign of dangerous weaponry. The teachers then took us up some escalators, looking unsure as to where we were going because the map was in Chinese! When we all knew where we were going we were taken away in our groups to look at different exhibits and to learn lots of exciting new things. One of the exhibits we saw was the human health exhibit which was… strange! The reason for this was that there was a ride we all went on which involved Chinese talking organs! The other exhibits were the space exhibit (where we learnt about space); the optical illusion exhibit (where we saw lots of optical illusions); and the movie… The movie was really cool because it was all about sea monsters and, ironically that was its name! Also, the screen we watched it on was 3D and it was so big that it was as tall as a six storey building and as wide as a basketball court! Although it didn’t feel like it! After that we ate lunch, looked at some more exhibits and finally, went home! If I could sum the trip up in one word it would be… AWESOME!
