Alien Numbers

On Friday 4th March 2011 Year 5 and 6 students became mesmerised by a world of Alien Numbers.

Led by Mr Martin Brown, Head of Mathematics, and with the assistance of Ms T Y Raani and ten able Year 7 students, Year 5 and 6 students explored what could have happened on an alien world if aliens had a different number of fingers "digits" on their hands (assuming they had hands!).

This was an excellent opportunity to enrich the budding mathematicians in our primary school by exploring number bases. Click here and here to view images from the morning session.

Martin Brown leads a session on Alien Numbers at the primary campus.
