Botanical Garden Visit

On Wednesday 22 April, Year 2 enjoyed a fabulous day out at the Shanghai Botanical Gardens.

The weather was perfect and the children explored the Tropicarium with gusto and were thrilled to see the plants they have been learning about as part of their Rainforest topic, in real life. Children completed a work book which included drawing plants which grow in the different layers of the rainforest, describing their favourite plant and looking at the variation of leaves. We were extremely impressed with the behaviour of the children and their level of maturity. You can tell from the quotes below, how much the children learnt and how much they enjoyed the trip.

Elita said “Wow!  These plants are amazing!  The leaves on the ferns look like water slowly spreading out.”

Joshua said “I loved it so much that I asked my mum to take me there again on the long weekend!”  And he did go again!
