Trips Report: Tuesday

Here's Tuesday's update on the progress of our intrepid explorers in far flung parts. Southern China and Cambodia both seem less grey than Shanghai!

Y7: Yangshuo

The heavens have smiled on Yangshuo, as our Y7 students have enjoyed great weather today.  At the time of writing, the campers are just playing hide and seek, after biking, climbing, abseiling and a game of football (although presumably not all at the same time).  They are looking forward to a camp fire (with marshmallows!).  A good time so far for both groups, with more excitement to come tomorrow.

Y8: Hainan

The news from Hainan reads: "Good day here.  Very hot again.  Had a brief rain shower this morning but otherwise fine and sunny.  Half the group went surfing this morning then headed off for a trek in the rainforest and a night camping in the rainforest.  The other half tackled the high ropes challenge, with everyone giving it a go.  Then spent the afternoon kayaking, snorkelling and swimming. All well and no problems".

Y9: Ziyuan

Y9 split into two groups for the day.  Group one visited a local school, hiked through rice fields, abseiled down the side of a spectacular waterfall, made their own rolls for lunch and generally had a good time.  The view from Ms Morris: "all good in paradise".

Group two spent the day on the water in kayaks, or - in some cases in the water.  Mr Rice described the white water as "yo ... like real white water" - it certainly had an effect on him.  Eddie was apparently chased out of his canoe by a spider at one point! Reports suggest that students on the whole did very well, and, after several hours were - to use the old cliche - tired but happy.  The weather was good, no rain and the sun thinking about making a proper appearance at the end of the day.  Dinner and then back to the hotel.

Y12: Cambodia

We'll update this as soon as the report comes in, but in the meantime don't forget the Cambodia pictures.
