The Giving Tree

On 12 December 2011, a group of PTA members and students went to a migrant school in Yu Xin to deliver the Giving Tree bags to all 358 students.

After a long journey out of Shanghai, we arrived at the school where the children greeted us with eager and enthusiastic grins. After the official ceremony where Claudine Wallace, PTA Charity Coordinator, greeted all the children and staff, the student of Yu Xin Middle School performed for us to show their appreciation. They had never received Giving Tree bags before. Our students then went into the classrooms and handed out the bags. One of our younger students couldn’t believe the number of children per class (up to 60 in reception) and how delighted they were when they opened their festive bag.

A BIG THANK YOU to all our parents and children who filled a bag or two. Together we have made 358 children very happy.
