Our Principal Writes

It was a great pleasure this week to present Principal's Commendations to students in both secondary and primary, as a reward and recognition of their hard work both inside and outside the classroom last term.

I was also delighted to be able to present a Wellesley College Book Prize to Suzanne Marton (Year 13) for her outstanding achievements at school. This award from one of the most prestigious US colleges, facilitated by a Wellesley alumni based in our community,  is an example of the growing network of educational contacts that we have and the interest that our work at BISS Puxi is generating. We have many very bright, intellectually inquisitive and hardworking students who are attracting attention from colleges and universities around the world.

The timing of the lunar New Year is very early this year and, as a result, our Chinese New Year half term holiday is just two and a half weeks after our return from the Christmas holiday. We have nonetheless made good use of this short period, with new staff and students welcomed and settled in, and a good deal of hard work undertaken. All of which is credit to the staff who have very quickly and smoothly integrated the newcomers and got the school operating on full speed ahead.
